Ceylon tea is made with leaves of different sizes, which are then sifted to make different grades. Size-graded leaves follow. Grading does not reflect tea quality, flavor, or scent. It only indicates leaf size and appearance. These grades include large-leafy Orange Pekoe, semi-leafy Flowery Pekoe, and regular BOP, BOP Fanning, and Dust grades. The most popular grades and their definitions are below.
Whole-leaf grades:

OPA, Orange Pekoe A: This grade has a long, bold, tightly wrapped leaf that virtually opens. The liquor is light-colored and mildly flavored.
This grade's leaf is delicate, long, and wiry. It has refined taste and light liquor.
